Apart from English and Hindi media, Urdu media also holds a special place in India. Apart from Urdu newspapers and Urdu TV news, many news portals also give special attention to people who know Urdu. With a good grasp on Urdu language, if you are also interested in journalism, then a diploma course in Urdu Journalism from Indian Institute of Mass Communication can be helpful for you.

This course, conducted by IIMC, an institute of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, will run from November to April. There are a total of 25 seats, on which the entrance examination will be based on. This course is helpful in preparing Urdu learners for the field of journalism.

You must be a graduate to do a diploma course in Urdu Journalism from IIMC. It is most important that you have a good knowledge of Urdu language. Since this course is about journalism, writing, speaking and reading Urdu is a must.

Will have to take the exam

To enter this course of Urdu Journalism, you must first pass the entrance examination conducted by the institute. The written examination will be held on August month at IIMC, New Delhi. Interview of the selected people in the written examination will be held in the second week of September at the institute itself.

There are two application options in this course

The first option is to send a demand draft and an envelope with your address stamped on it, asking for the form. Another option is to download the demand draft from the form www.iimc.gov.in and send it in favor of the Registrar, IIMC New Delhi to the address given below before last week of August.
